RAYMOND PATRICK MAXIMO

I  received my Docteur en Sciences degree at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Brussels, Belgium in March 2020. My research is on the geochemical composition of thermal springs of active volcanoes in the Philippines.

I am also currently a science research specialist at the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) in the Philippines.

My research interests include geochemistry of hard rocks and volcanic fluids, physical volcanology, petrology, volcanic hazards and sulfur isotopic studies of thermal waters.

MY TRAVELS

La Fossa Crater, Vulcano Island, Italy. I was lucky to be able to climb the top of Vulcano. This is when you are standing on the crater rim of La Fossa crater.

Up close and personal with Cotopaxi volcano in Quito, Ecuador.I was lucky to be chosen as one of the participants to the VUELCO workshop. Cotopaxi volcano is one of the laboratory volcanoes of VUELCO because of its long period of unrest.
